Biography

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens announced today that Max Chrétien has re-signed with the club for the 2023 USL League Two season, pending league approval.

The USF forward was the focal point of the attack last season, amassing nine goals and five assists, both team highs. Chrétien had three multi-goal games, including a four-score bonanza against Central Valley Fuego 2 and a brace that proved decisive in the Glens’ 3-2 upset playoff win over top-seeded Capital FC in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

“I’m stoked to be back this summer playing for the Glens,” said Chrétien. “There’s a super exciting feeling around the club, and a great coaching staff to match it, so I’m buzzing to be back and can’t wait to get started. Up the Glens!”

A native of Christchurch, New Zealand where he spent time with the youth national team camp at Under-17 level, Chrétien played for Christchurch FC and Canterbury FC in New Zealand before moving stateside to Quincy University in Illinois. After transferring to USF in 2022, he scored four goals and notched one assist at the Hilltop.

“Max is a workhorse,” said Glens head coach Gabe Saucedo. “He so mentally and physically tough. It’s exactly what we want in our players and he exhibits that to a T. I’m so excited to bring him back as our No. 9."
