San Francisco's losing streak continues after pair of defeats

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens' unlucky season proceeded with a pair of losses over the weekend at Boxer Stadium.

Despite possessing leads of 2-0 and 3-2, the Glens eventually fell to the Ventura County Fusion last Sunday, 4-3.

Debutant Rhys de Sota and Diego Lopez gave the Glens an early advantage, but the visitors equalized before halftime. After the intermission, substitute Marco Iubel scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season but the Fusion would answer with two goals for the final margin.

Two days later, the Glens dropped the San Francisco Derby to SF City FC by a score of 5-3. After the visitors jumped out to a 3-0 lead, a wave of substitutes put the Green and White back in the game. Zach Ryan scored a brace and Lopez slotted home a penalty kick to make it a contest, but more defensive miscues doomed the Glens to another disappointing result.

The Glens aim to get back in the win column at Boxer Stadium on Saturday against the LA Galaxy San Diego Zest. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
