These maestros are already grabbing headlines

The 2019 League Two 20 Under 20 List highlights the most exciting young prospects in the league. Five players from each of the four positions were selected to the list and one position will be announced per week, beginning on October 2 with goalkeepersdefenders on October 9, midfielders on October 17, and finishing with forwards on October 23. Players born on or after January 1, 1999 are eligible for the list.

These five young midfielders have promising futures in front of them, having already shown plenty of ability and intelligence beyond their years while running the show in the middle of the park for their clubs.

1

Ollie Wright

Corpus Christi FC | Age: 20

Wright had as good a season statistically as anyone in League Two. The London native appeared in all 14 matches for Corpus Christi and played over 1,000 minutes, scoring seven goals and using his superb vision and intelligence to notch 15 assists, a new League Two single-season record.

2

Jack Beer

Manhattan SC | Age: 20

One of only two players on the 20 Under 20 list to make the 2019 League Two Team of the Year, Beer had a monster season for Manhattan. The Georgetown junior racked up four goals and seven assists while contributing on the defensive side of the ball as well.

3

Sebastian Schacht

Des Moines Menace | Age: 20

The New Zealand native was a big reason why the Menace were the best team in League Two during the regular season. Schacht is a promising prospect at both ends of the pitch.

4

O’Vonte Mullings

Sounders FC U23 | Age: 19

Mullings was the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year last year and followed it up with an impressive League Two campaign. At 18-years-old during the season, the young Canadian tallied an efficient three goals and one assist in 470 minutes on the pitch.

5

Omar Hernandez

Dalton Red Wolves | Age: 18

At the start of the 2019 League Two season, Hernandez was coming off his senior season of high school and winning the Gatorade National Player of the Year award. Before heading to Wake Forest to begin his collegiate career, Hernandez suited up for the Dalton Red Wolves and turned heads with his performances. His is certainly a name to remember.
