Creative midfielder joins Glens for third campaign in club's return from two-year hiatus

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens announced Thursday that Adrian Medina will be returning home as the club's first signing for the 2022 USL League Two season.

This campaign will mark the creative midfielder's third season with the Glens. The San Francisco native made his debut in 2018 while still a senior at Stuart Hall High School after an illustrious club career at Bay City FC that included a scholarship from the prestigious Allstate Sueño Alianza program.

Medina returned for a second season in 2019 while a freshman at San Francisco State University and also earned caps with the U.S. Futsal National Team where he competed in the IFA Futsal World Cup.

Now at Division I Cal State Bakersfield, he arrives as a grizzled veteran ready to make an impact as both a linking and attacking midfielder as the Glens are back after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It's always a great feeling to come back to your home city and play in front of your family and friends and all the youth," Medina said. "It's been a long time since we've come together as a community, as a team. I'm super excited to compete and show what The City is all about, so I hope to see you all there this summer supporting us at Skyline. See you soon. Up the Glens!"

The Glens' USL League Two season commences on May 13th when they host defending Southwest Division champion FC Golden State Force at Skyline College. Visit SFGlens.com for our full schedule and the latest club news.
