Another brace for Academy product Diego Grande leads the way

SAN FRANCISCO (June 4, 2022) — The San Francisco Glens sit atop the USL League Two Southwest Division table after a resounding 4-1 win over crosstown rivals SF City FC at Boxer Stadium in the annual SF Derby.

Long-range goals from Dominic Valdivia (2') and Adrian Medina (56') sandwiched a two-minute flurry from Max Chrétien and Diego Grande, as the former assisted the latter on both scores (34', 36'). The offensive explosion catapulted the Glens to a shocking 4-0 lead.

Though City's Adrian Cekala would pull one back for the hosts in the 59th minute, the Green and White recalibrated their defense around goalkeeper Hugo Dutour and did not concede for the rest of the match.

It's now a series of firsts for the Glens, who find themselves in first place for the first time since joining the league four years ago, with current first-year head coach Gabe Saucedo having been on staff as an assistant for all the previous campaigns.

Check back later for a more detailed recap along with game highlights.

NEXT GAME: Friday, June 10 at Ventura College vs. Ventura County Fusion.
