Eliot Jones standout performance leads to scoreless draw with Marin

The San Francisco Glens have clinched a spot in the USL League Two national playoffs for the first time in club history after a 0-0 road draw with Marin FC Legends on Wednesday night in San Rafael.

Both sides had their moments in the first half, as Julio González Ponce and Josh Dabora almost found the back of the net for San Francisco. But the second half saw a more open game, with Marin and the Glens countering back and forth in search of a breakthrough.

The hosts almost got it late in the game, but a Marin goal was called back for offside. The Glens would have their share of chances in the waning moments but could not get a clear enough shot to beat goalkeeper Colin Sneddon.

Eliot Jones earned Carlsberg Man of the Match honors for his shot-stopping heroics, running his streak without having conceded a goal.

The Glens complete the regular season tomorrow when they travel to Fresno Pacific University to take on Central Valley Fuego 2 in a rematch of last Sunday, which San Francisco won 7-0. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. PST and will stream live on elevensports.com.
