SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens Soccer Club announced today that midfielder Jennie Immethun will join the club for the 2023 USL W League season, pending league approval.

A U.S. Youth National Team camp veteran at Under-18/19 level, Immethun is coming off a successful first collegiate season at Loyola Marymount where she started 15 of 17 games before transferring to TCU. Known for her keen anticipation and technical ability, the holding midfielder’s preprofessional experience includes earning WPSL PAC North Conference Best XI honors with Bay Area Surf last season.

“I’m super excited to be a part of this team and for the opportunity to play with all these amazing players and coaches,” said Immethun. “I’m looking forward to represent the San Francisco Glens and see what we can do this summer. Up the Glens!”

The San Jose native and Piedmont Hills High School graduate will be returning home to the Bay Area. At club level, Immethun’s teams at the San Jose Earthquakes Academy and later, Bay Area Surf, won a trio of national championships. In joining the Glens, she will be reuniting with several of her club coaches who are now on staff.

"Jennie is another excellent addition to our squad," said head coach Mike Sharabi. "She will be a player who we will lean on in midfield on both sides of the ball."

“Jennie is a very special player on our team and system of play,” added Glens assistant coach Heath Piper. “I have had the pleasure to coach her for many years now and it's always a pleasure to have a player like her on the roster. She is the unsung hero of the group—our maestro in the middle when we have the ball. Jennie’s the player that puts in the hard work, and is relentless defensively.”

The San Francisco Glens are entering their first USL W League season in the NorCal Division. Open tryouts will take place February 18 and March 12 at Skyline College. Register now at sfglens.com/tryouts.
