SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens Soccer Club announced today that Oregon midfielder Alice Barbieri has signed on for the 2023 USL W League season, pending league approval.

A native of San Jose, Barbieri started 17 of 18 games in 2022 for the Ducks and netted twice in important situations—one of them against then-No. 1 UCLA.

“I’m so excited to play with the SF Glens this upcoming season,” said Barbieri. “Hope to see you out there. Up the Glens!”

The Leigh High School graduate led her alma mater to a conference title and the state championship game during her time with the Longhorns, earning All-Central Coast Section First Team honors. At club level, she led her MVLA team in assists and was selected twice for ECNL’s Player Development Program.

“I'm thrilled to add Alice to our roster. She is a versatile midfielder with two years of Pac-12 experience. I'm looking forward to seeing her link up play with our attack,” said Glens head coach Mike Sharabi.

"I’m excited to have Alice with us this season," added Glens assistant coach Heath Piper. "She's a talented player that can play many positions for us. She can score from anywhere on the pitch at anytime and is relentless defensively as well. Another great addition to this Glens team!"

The San Francisco Glens are entering their first USL W League season in the NorCal Division. Open tryouts will take place March 11 at Skyline College. Register now at sfglens.com/tryouts.
