Experienced forward returning home to strengthen attack

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens announced today that Elianna Wong has signed with the club for the 2023 USL W League season, pending league approval.

The University of Portland forward brings plenty of Division I experience, with 29 games over two seasons where she netted twice and assisted three times as the Pilots enjoyed a run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2022.

“I’m looking forward to playing with the club this summer,” said Wong. “Up the Glens!”

Wong had a stalwart club soccer career, earning All-ECNL Northwest Conference First Team honors with De Anza Force. A Los Gatos, California native, she also led Los Gatos High School to an unbeaten season and a league title as a senior.

“We are happy to welcome Elianna to our Glens family,” said Glens head coach Mike Sharabi. “She has a lot of Division I experience and we hope that will shine through while playing with us this summer.”

"Elianna is a player that brings a relentless attacking mindset," said Glens assistant coach Heath Piper. "She is quick, shifty and very hard to mark on and off the the ball. She is also a player that loves to compete. Eli has played with many of the players on our roster in past years and has also played in our system before, so she will fit it in well. We look forward to having her with us this season."

The San Francisco Glens are entering their first USL W League season in the NorCal Division, with their inaugural game on Sunday, May 7 vs. Academica SC at Skyline College. Buy tickets now at sfglens.com/tickets.
