SAN FRANCISCO – San Francisco Glens players Elise Evans and Jasmine Aikey have been called to represent the United States Under-20 Women’s Youth National Team in the 2023 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship from May 24-June 3 in the Dominican Republic.

Eight countries will vie for three berths in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup as the United States will attempt to capture their third consecutive and record eighth title in the competition.

The USYNT U-20s start Group A action vs. Panama on Wednesday, May 24 (4 p.m. PT, FS1). They take on Jamaica on Friday, May 26 (3 p.m. PT, FS2) and end the group stage against Canada on Sunday, May 28 (3 p.m. PT, FS2).

Evans, the reigning TopDrawerSoccer National Freshman of the Year and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year at Stanford University, won the U-15 Concacaf Championship with the U.S. Youth National Team in 2018. She has also participated in USYNT training camps at the U-14/15, U-16, U-17 and U-20 age groups. At the collegiate level, in addition to winning the Pac-12 Conference Championship, the defender was named to the United Coaches All-Region first team and All-Pac-12 Freshman team after starting all 19 games she appeared in 2022, scoring three goals. A native of Redwood City, Calif., Evans became the Glens’ first signing to their inaugural USL W League team earlier this spring and aims to make her debut shortly after the Concacaf U-20 Championship.

Aikey, who earned United Coaches All-Region first-team honors as a freshman at Stanford in 2022, is also a veteran of USYNT training camps at the U-14, U-15 and U-17 levels. A versatile player who can adapt as a midfielder or forward, she amassed 10 goals and three assists with 16 starts in 22 games en route to spots on the All-Pac-12 second team and All-Pac-12 Freshman first team. The Palo Alto, Calif., native was the third W League signing in Glens history and will join her teammate Evans again following her national team duty in San Francisco.
