San Francisco has outscored foes 21-1 in first four games

The San Francisco Glens' early dominance in their inaugural season has been recognized by the USL W League, who have placed the Girls in Green atop the first edition of their national power rankings.

Winning their first four games by a combined margin of 21-1, the feat is even more impressive considering the Glens are still missing several key players who are currently finishing their collegiate spring seasons (Andrea Kitahata, Stanford; Bridgette Marin-Valencia, UCLA) or serving international duty for the United States (Elise Evans, Jasmine Aikey) or Mexico (America Frías) in the Concacaf Under-20 Championship this week.

The Glens edged Indy Eleven, Tampa Bay United, and two NWSL pre-professional affiliates, North Carolina Courage U23 and Racing Louisville FC.

"We're honored to be ranked in the top spot," said Glens head coach Mike Sharabi. "However, the season is very young and we have some lofty goals for this extremely talented group of players. It’s not about how you start, but how you finish, and we are hoping to be numberone at the end of the season."

The Glens return to protect their home turf Saturday at 3:30 p.m. when they face Stockton Cargo SC at Skyline College. Broadcast information will be released Thursday.
