The San Francisco Glens captured their seventh straight victory to open the USL W League season with a 2-0 shutout at Pleasanton Rage Thursday night.
Maia Beltrán broke the early scoreless tie in the 33rd minute, thanks to a well-placed cross from Nádia Gomes. After the half, Gomes snagged a goal for herself in the 50th minute.
San Francisco had allowed a goal in three straight games, but the Glens' defense recovered to grab its fourth clean sheet of the season.
The Glens can't celebrate too long, as a bout with second-place Oakland Soul looms ahead at 3:30 pm Sunday at Skyline College. The game will be streamed live on Kron4.com and the KRONon app.
