Girls in Green call on four different scorers to win SF Derby

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Glens defeated The Olympic Club 4-0 at Negoesco Stadium on Sunday to sweep the season series and inch closer to clinching a USL W League national playoff berth.

The Girls in Green dominated the action from the start, with debutants Elise Evans and Jasmine Aikey making their presence felt on both sides of the field.

Aikey would open the scoring in the 28th minute off an assist by Elle Piper. Nadia Gomes would find the back of the net three minutes later to double the advantage before halftime.

The second 45 minutes were all Glens once again, as Kaylee Kim (47') and Maia Beltrán (53') netted for the final margin.

Now the Glens head home to Skyline College for another showdown with powerhouse California Storm next Sunday, June 25th at 3:30 p.m. The first meeting was San Francisco's closest game all season, a 2-1 win on the road.
