SAN FRANCISCO (April 19, 2024)  — The San Francisco Glens Soccer Club announced today that defender Joe Core has signed on for the 2024 USL League Two season, pending league approval.

A Top Drawer Soccer National Top 100 Freshmen (2020-21), the native of Arlington, Virginia, was a four-year starter for William and Mary, registering more than 3,000 minutes throughout his Division 1 career. 

“I couldn’t be more excited to represent the club this upcoming summer,” said Core. “Up the Glens!”

Recently, Core joined the University of San Francisco as a graduate student and is expected to feature for the Dons this upcoming collegiate season.

In four years with the Tribe, the center back, who earned multiple CAA honors, started 42 of the 49 games he played in, scoring two goals and delivering three assists. 

“Joe is going to be an amazing addition to our group,” said Glens head coach Liam Guest. “He brings us a lot of experience, boasting an impressive collegiate career thus far. He’s a natural, left-footed center back that brings a lot of qualities both on and off the ball. We are very excited to work with him.”

The San Francisco Glens are kicking off the 2024 USL League Two campaign on the road on Saturday, May 11 vs. Almaden FC. Tickets for home games will be available soon.
