SAN FRANCISCO (April 25, 2024)  —  The San Francisco Glens Soccer Club announced today that Gabriel Bracken Serra has re-signed with the club for the 2024 USL League Two season, pending league approval.

A Berkeley native who currently attends the University of San Francisco, the midfielder earned two Player of the Game mentions last USL League Two season, providing goals and assists in a campaign that saw the Glens advance to the Western Conference Semifinals.

“I’m excited to be back playing with the Glens this summer,” said Bracken Serra. “Up the Glens!”

Bracken Serra is coming off his third season at USF, which was capped off with All-WCC First Team honors after tallying six goals and five assists.

The midfielder was one of five players to play all of USF’s 17 games last season and was also named the WCC Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions.

“Gabe returns after an outstanding fall season at USF,” said Glens head coach Liam Guest. “He is a pivotal part of our midfield and has the ability to make players around him better. We are very excited to work with him again this season.”

The San Francisco Glens are kicking off the 2024 USL League Two campaign on the road on Saturday, May 11 vs. Almaden FC. Tickets will go on sale soon.

With over 90 total teams and 1,100 youth and adult players, the San Francisco Glens are the largest and most diverse soccer club in The City. Founded in 1961, the Glens have established minor-league men’s team in USL League Two, a women’s team in the USL W League, and a comprehensive youth academy that includes a full pathway in MLS NEXT, the top youth league in America, right down to local micro soccer programs serving kids as young as Pre-K.

In 2022, the club started the construction of a soccer-specific facility at Treasure Island with a targeted completion date by mid-2024. As a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Glens are proud to have never turned away a single player or family due to financial hardship thanks to internal fundraising efforts and a scholarship program that distributed over $280,000 last year alone.
