Heath Piper returns as Head Coach for the SF Glens USL W League team in 2025, ready to lead the team to new heights.

San Francisco, CA (April 14, 2025) — The San Francisco Glens are proud to announce the appointment of Heath Piper as Head Coach for the SF Glens USL W League team for the 2025 season. Piper returns to the Glens after serving as an assistant coach during the team’s 2024 campaign, where they achieved a strong third-place finish.

Under his leadership, the Glens are committed to continuing to provide top talent with a platform to demonstrate their skills in the USL W League, which has become a crucial stepping stone for players aspiring to reach the professional ranks. The USL offers athletes a unique opportunity to grow and gain exposure in a highly competitive environment that fosters both personal and team development. With the Glens, players have the opportunity to compete at the highest levels of pre-professional soccer, setting the stage to unlock their full potential and advance their careers.

A highly respected figure in the Bay Area soccer community with over 20 years of experience, Piper is best known for co-founding and serving as the Executive Academy Director of Bay Area Surf. Throughout his tenure, he has played a crucial role in developing numerous players who have gone on to achieve success at the collegiate, professional, and national team levels. Yuna McCormack, Elise Evans, and Jocelyn Travers are among the many successful players who have also spent time with the Glens alongside Heath in previous seasons.

Piper holds a USSF A coaching license and boasts an impressive track record in youth soccer development. Over the years, he has successfully guided teams to national championships, including in the Girls Academy League’s Under-17 and Under-19 Divisions, as well as the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s Under-15 Girls Division.

The San Francisco Glens are excited to begin this new chapter under Heath Piper's leadership. With his expertise, dedication, and proven success in player development, Piper is poised to take the USL W League team to even greater heights in 2025.

ABOUT THE USL W LEAGUE

The USL W League is the nation’s premier pre-professional league developing the next generation of women’s soccer talent both on and off the field, enhancing the pipeline between college and professional soccer. Since the conclusion of the inaugural 2022 season, 25 W League alums have gone to sign a professional contract.
