San Francisco, CA (June 19, 2025) — The San Francisco Glens are proud to announce that Alberto Millán has been named the club’s new 11v11 Director for the Glens Academy.
Since joining the Glens in 2024 as an MLS NEXT Head Coach and USL League Two Assistant Coach, Millán has quickly established himself as a key figure in the club’s player development structure. A highly regarded coach with a USSF A License and deep experience in elite youth environments, he now steps into a leadership role overseeing all full-field programming across the Academy.
In his new position, Millán will lead the planning and execution of all 11v11 operations—ranging from tryout processes and roster formation to coach management and competitive performance. He will work closely with the Technical Director to align the club’s methodology across age groups, ensuring a consistent, high-performance environment for both players and staff.
Before joining the Glens, Millán held senior coaching roles with Phoenix Rising and Real Salt Lake AZ, where he guided multiple teams to national-level success, including Surf Cup titles and MLS NEXT playoff appearances. In addition to his USSF credentials, he holds the Spanish Level 2 (UEFA A Equivalent) license and is known for his tactical periodization expertise, video analysis work, and bilingual leadership.
A committed mentor with a passion for both coaching education and player development, Millán brings a values-driven approach that emphasizes growth on and off the field. His appointment signals the Glens’ continued investment in creating an elite, community-rooted academy culture.
Please join us in congratulating Alberto Millán on his new role with the Glens!
