San Francisco previously defeated Davis 2-1 to begin the campaign May 14.

San Francisco Glens SC (4-2-3, tied-second Nor Cal Division) were defeated by Davis Legacy SC (2-6-2, seventh in Nor Cal Division) by a score of 2-0 in USL League Two play Wednesday afternoon at San Francisco Glens Stadium on Treasure Island.

Wednesday’s noontime contest was a rematch of the season-opening 2-1 road victory for San Francisco against Davis on May 14, which presented the Glens with an opportunity to secure a season sweep and pick up a crucial win for the Nor Cal Division standings.

Goalkeeper Thomas Grimes, a rising senior at UC Berkeley, made his 2025 Glens debut Wednesday. Davis only mustered two shots on goal in the first half, leading to easy saves for Grimes as San Francisco applied the bulk of the offensive pressure in the opening period.

Adrian Guzman Jr. fired multiple shots on goal in the early action before Shane Lonergan’s blistering shot in the 23rd minute off of a half volley beat the Davis keeper but clanged off of the crossbar and away from danger.

In the 43rd minute, Lonergan had another attempt on goal saved, earning the Glens their fourth corner kick of the first half. Despite 15 shots from San Francisco and limited pressure from the visitors in the opening stanza, the match entered halftime tied 0-0.

Davis took advantage of its own chances in the 48th minute, when the rebound off of a Grimes save made its way to the feet of Ermias Yohannes, who gave the visitors a 1-0 lead after promptly slotting home the goal.

The Glens nearly responded moments later, when Florentino Junior’s well-struck shot from outside of the penalty area was deflected by a Legacy defender on its way towards the goal, but a second San Francisco shot of the afternoon found the crossbar instead of the back of the net to keep the hosts scoreless.

Yohannes secured a brace in the 81st minute, scoring with his right foot after an assist from a hard-charging Benjamin Elkins and putting Davis ahead 2-0.

After a foul and yellow card for Legacy’s Angad Singh, Saul Tecle’s penalty kick was saved by Davis goalkeeper Joshua Moya, denying the Glens a final chance at scoring.

San Francisco will stick around Treasure Island for its next three matches, first hosting Marin FC Legends on Sunday at 3 PM before playing Academica next Wednesday, with kickoff for that match also at 3PM.
