If the San Francisco Glens Soccer Club has a successful launch in the USL’s Premier Development League, the team’s next evolution could be starting a professional soccer team in SF
This Saturday the Glens' PDL side will play their first match ever at Boxer Stadium against the Santa Cruz Breakers. From humble beginnings as an amateur team in 1961, the Glens today have the largest youth academy soccer club in the city. Adding a PDL team was the next logical step in their growth, explained J. Ramon Estevez, the PDL team’s President and General Manager.
“The club has aspirations beyond the PDL,” stated Estevez. “but for now that’s the focus.”
